Siclaé in brief

Siclaé in briefSiclaé originated in 2005 from the desire of five cooperatives from the North-East of France - Champagne Céréales, Nouricia, EMC2, Société Coopérative Agricole de la Champagne, and Société Coopérative Agricole de Sézanne et Environs - to bring together their interests in the field of bio-based processing within one structure, and to thus create and develop an international agro-industrial group, with regional roots, focused on large-scale farming crops.

The combination of local foundations, committed and stable shareholders, and an entrepreneurial spirit constitutes an essential asset in the implementation of a resolutely long-term strategy.

Scope

Siclaé exists at the cross-roads of the farming and industrial sectors, on essential and fast-growing markets like malt production, milling, frozen bakery, starch-glucose production, corn processing, animal feed, bioenergies, and green chemistry.

Priority is given to processing cereal crops (wheat, barley, corn, oats), oil-producing plants (rapeseed, sunflower), and proteaginous plants (peas, horse beans), with the dual objective of creating value for regional farming and the achievement of critical mass.

The aim of creating value also takes into account sustainable development and industrial ecology, through an ambitious research and innovation policy.

Organisation

Siclaé is a group of agro-industrial companies, each focused on a specific industry, most of which are leaders in their field.

Its main subsidiaries are Malteurop, the world number-one in malt production; NutriXo, one of the biggest players in the European milling industry and the French frozen bakery industry; Chamtor, one of France's top starch-glucose processing specialists; Champagne Maïs, one of the biggest corn processors in Europe; Nestal, a leading animal nutrition group in Eastern France; and ARD, a reference in agro-industrial research in France and the rest of Europe.

As well as these subsidiaries, Siclaé also has stakes in Ineos Champlor and LMT Oléagineux, two recently-created companies, specialising in bioenergies.
